Bloomington Indiana
The city of Bloomington, in Central Indiana, is Monroe County’s seat. Its population in 2000 was put at right around 70,000. Home of the prestigious main campus of Indiana University, Bloomington also boasts the School of Law and the School of Public and Environmental Affairs, both at Indiana University, as well as a Bloomington Kelley School of Business, the famous Jacobs School of Music and the even more widely-known Kinsey Institute.
Sometimes known affectionately as “B-Town,” Bloomington is the 7th largest city in the state of Indiana. Nicely situated about 40 miles to the southwest of Indianapolis, Bloomington offers a family-friendly, active and healthy environment for the Hoosiers who make it their home.
